Homepage Redesign

On June 30, 2025 we launched a redesign of UAH’s homepage to satisfy user demand for more relevant content, to refresh the university’s brand, and to address emerging trends in higher ed web design.  It replaced a homepage that had not been altered since its original design in 2013.  The project was a culmination of weeks of research into UX best practices, analysis of user traffic and behavior on the page, study of the university’s competitors’ homepages, and a thorough integration of new brand standards.  Prior to launch I pitched the design to a committee of university executives: provosts, deans, and vice presidents.  By all accounts it went well and, after listening to the committee’s suggestions and making a final round of revisions, the site went live on schedule.

The new homepage is designed to create a warm, exciting experience for our users, inviting them to imagine themselves as a part of the UAH community.  It features dynamically generated  video and images that refresh every time the page loads so that users always see a fresh view of UAH.  Click the button to see the site in action, or click on the thumbnails below to see before and after fullpage screenshots.
