Executive Committee: University Branding and Athletics Logo
The University of Alabama in Huntsville’s Vice President of Strategic Communications and Creative Director invited me to serve on an executive committee to help with a branding realignment project for the university. The centerpiece of the project is a complete redesign of UAH’s athletics mascot and typeface. We worked closely with a creative agency to deliver a contemporary, bold, modular design that excited the president and the athletic director and will help UAH’s teams stand out in a crowded athletic conference. Final unveiling to the student body happened in the fall of 2025, followed by a 2026 Sweet Sixteen appearance (and exposure on ESPN) at the NCAA Division II national championship tournament by the women’s basketball team.
The Impact
Final unveiling to the student body in the fall of 2025 was met with excitement and an increased demand for athletic merchandise. The 2026 March Madness season culminated in a Final Four appearance (and exposure on ESPN) at the NCAA Division II national championship tournament by the women’s basketball team. The new logo shone on a national stage.
